Creature Comforts for Dogs

At Lyndhurst Lodge, our facilities are first class. For dog boarding facilities in Melbourne, there are few that can offer the range and quality of services that we can. For dogs, our state of the art, spacious facilities incorporate heated floors, ducted gas heating and evaporative cooling. Our ventilation system capable of replacing all air in the dog facilities up to 30 times per hour so it is always fresh.

Understanding that smaller dogs can be intimidated when in the company of larger dogs, we designate separate areas for each.

To help your dog settle and burn of that excess energy, each dog is exercised with a group of compatible dogs multiple times every day at no extra cost on the spacious lawns adjacent to the dog facilities.

Environmental Considerations

Our boarding facility was designed to be as environmentally responsible as possible.

Waste from both facilities is processed by a worm farm septic system which disposes of all solid and liquid waste. The residual water and worm castings are then directed back into the grassed areas. Rainwater from the roof of the facilities building is stored in large tanks and utilised in both the facilities and garden. All waste water from facilities and grooming is used around the yard to water the garden.

Our acoustic ceilings were designed to minimise noise levels both within and outside our dog boarding facilities as well as providing extremely good thermal insulation which reduces the need for excessive heating or cooling of the facility.

The concrete floors and walls have been treated with an antimicrobial densifier, which seals the concrete to prevent ingress of urine and chemicals and eradicate mould, microbes, deep seated disease, acids, oils and body fats. Our boarding facility meets and exceeds all of the requirements set down by the Code of Practice for the Operation of Boarding Establishments and the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animal Act.
